What does writing have to do with growing a business?

The answer is… EVERYTHING!

See, whether you’re writing a sales page for your eBook or the script for an Instagram Reel to promote your service, your writing is what convinces people to give you their money.

But if you look at the writing of most businesses, you’ll quickly realize it is horrendous!

Why the writing of most businesses is criminally bad.

Reason №1 – it’s boooooooooooooooooring.

There’s no spice, like a university professor rambling about quantum physics. There are too many technical terms, too many complicated words, and too little emotion.

For example:

  • Dentists tell you about the features of their new dental implant tool.

  • Physiotherapists tell you about a tendon in your body and how it works.

  • Roofers tell you about how awesome their bricks are.

WHO CARES?!

You just want:

  • Your dentist to fix your tooth.

  • Your physiotherapist to fix your back.

  • Your roofer to build you a roof.

That’s it!

Reason №2 – It’s hard to digest.

Imagine someone sends you a message and it’s a giant blob of text.

It’s kinda scary, isn’t it?

And your brain is like “Nope, we ain’t reading this Tolkien-sized novel.”

Same thing with your writing.

Stop scaring people away with giant text paragraphs. Chop your paragraph into pieces. Make it quick and easy to digest. Just like this article.

Now that we know where businesses go wrong with their writing, let’s talk about what actually matters.

How to write like a pro and scale your business as a result.

First, ask yourself “What does my target audience care about?”

After you indicate that, try to center your writing around it.

For example, let’s say you’re a roofing company. Don’t tell people about the proportions of your bricks. Instead, tell them how their home will be 10 times more resilient to bad weather conditions if they use your bricks.

Second, make people want to read more (instead of making them want to cut their eyeballs out).

In other words:

"Your copy should feel like a waterslide, not a staircase."

– Gary Provost

Each line should lead into the next. And the more you read, the more you should want to keep reading.

With that being said…

Apply this advice to supercharge the effectiveness of your writing. Then watch your monthly revenue grow.
